Zonnevlekkengebieden en zonnevlammen

Solar flaring activity was very low over the past 24 hours as the X-ray flux was below C level. The newly-emerged SIDC Sunspot Group 942 (NOAA Active Region 4509, Beta magnetic configuration) is rapidly growing and is likely to produce C-class flaring activity in the next 24 hours.

Coronale massa uitstoten

No Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) were observed in the last 24 hours.

Zonnewind

The Solar Wind (SW) conditions of the past 24 hours featured a slow SW regime. The SW speed dropped from 450 to 390 km/s, the interplanetary magnetic field (B) ranged between 2 and 6 nT, and its North- South component (Bz) varied from -5 to 4 nT. A High Speed Stream (HSS) that is associated with the SIDC Coronal Hole (CH) 174, is expected to arrive in the next 24 hours.

Geomagnetisme

The geomagnetic conditions of the past 24 hours were from quiet to unsettled both globally and locally (NOAA Kp 1 to 3- and K BEL 1 to 3). As a HSS is expected in the next 24 hours, active conditions are likely to register in the next 24 hours.

Proton flux niveaus

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux, as measured by the GOES-19 satellite, was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is likely to remain so in the next 24 hours.

Elektronenfluxen in geostationaire baan

The greater than 2 MeV electron flux, as measured by GOES 19, was below the 1000 pfu alert threshold for past 24 hours. It is expected to remain at the same levels in the next 24 hours. The electron fluence was at normal levels in the past 24 hours and it is expected to remain at the same levels in the next 24 hours.
