Solar flaring activity was low over the past 24 hours, with three C-class flares identified. SIDC Sunspot Group (SG) 936 (NOAA Active Region [AR] 4503, Beta magnetic configuration) had a sudden flux emerge shortly before the release of SIDC flare 8350 on 14 Aug at 07:01 UTC. With a C4 brightness this is the larger flare since 2 Aug. SIDC SG 941 (NOAA AR 4508, Alpha magnetic configuration) produced the second C-class flare and SIDC SG 939 (NOAA AR 4506, Beta magnetic configuration) the third. Isolated C-class flaring activity is expected in the next 24 hours.
No Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) were observed in the last 24 hours.
The Solar Wind (SW) conditions of the past 24 hours featured a slow SW regime. The SW speed dropped from 400 to 330 km/s, the interplanetary magnetic field (B) ranged between 3 and 8 nT, and its North- South component (Bz) varied from -6 to 6 nT. A High Speed Stream (HSS) that is associated with the SIDC Coronal Hole (CH) 174, is expected to arrive in the next 24 hours.
The geomagnetic conditions of the past 24 hours were from quiet to unsettled both globally and locally (NOAA Kp and K BEL 1 to 3). As a HSS is likely to arrive in the next 24 hours, up to active conditions will probably register.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux, as measured by the GOES-19 satellite, was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is likely to remain so in the next 24 hours.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux, as measured by GOES 19, was below the 1000 pfu alert threshold for past 24 hours. It is expected to remain at the same levels in the next 24 hours. The electron fluence was at normal levels in the past 24 hours and it is expected to remain at the same levels in the next 24 hours.
