Solar flaring activity was low over the past 24 hours, with only C-class flares identified. The largest flare was a C1.0 flare (SIDC Flare 8540) peaking on September 07 at 19:35 UTC, which was produced by SIDC Sunspot Group 946 (NOAA Active Regions 4514, 4528). A total of 7 numbered sunspot groups were identified on the disk over the past 24 hours, all having alpha or beta magnetic configuration. Solar flaring activity is expected to be low over the next 24 hours, with C-class flares likely and a small chance for M-class flares.
No new Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected in the available coronagraph images.
A small equatorial positive polarity Coronal hole (SIDC CH 180) is crossing the central meridian. The associated high-speed stream may enhance the solar wind conditions near Earth around 11 September.
Over the past 24 hours, solar wind parameters reflected the continued influence of a mild high-speed stream associated with the positive polarity coronal hole (SIDC Coronal Hole 179). The solar wind speed increased to 597 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field reached values up to about 14 nT before decreasing to around 5 nT by the end of the period. The north-south component of the interplanetary magnetic field, Bz, fluctuated between about -12 nT and 10nT. Solar wind conditions are expected to remain slightly disturbed over the next 24 hours, due to the possible ICME arrivals associated with CME 716 (which left the sun on 2026-09-05 15:34 UTC) and CME 718 (which left the sun 2026-09-07 11:00 UTC).
Geomagnetic conditions were mainly active, reaching minor storm conditions on September 7 06:00 UTC (NOAA Kp reaching 5, K BEL reaching 4), over the past 24 hours. Active to minor storm conditions are possible for the next 24 hours due to the possible ICME arrivals associated with CME 716 (which left the sun on 2026-09-05 15:34 UTC) and CME 718 (which left the sun 2026-09-07 11:00 UTC).
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux remained below the 10 pfu threshold and is expected to remain so over the next days.
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux remained below the 1000 pfu alert threshold, and is expected to remain below the threshold during the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at normal levels and is expected to remain so.
