Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory (STEREO)
NASA STEREO, Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory, är två identiska satelliter vilka är placerade i två olika omloppsbanor runt Solen. STEREO Ahead placerades något närmare Solen än jorden, STEREO Behind något längre bort från Solen än jorden. Resultatet blir att de drar sig framför och gradvis bakom jordens omloppsbana kring Solen, varför de sammantaget ger oss data från Solens fram-och baksida. På den här sidan finner vi information från SECCHI-instrumentet: Extrem ultraviolett (EUVI)-kameran vilken visar oss Solen i 195 Ångström-spektrumet, samt koronagrafer i synligt ljust-spektrumet; COR1 och COR2.
Communications with STEREO Behind were lost on October 1, 2014, due to multiple hardware anomalies affecting control of the spacecraft orientation. There is currently no real-time data available from STEREO Behind. Should communications be reestablished in the future we will feature any data coming from STEREO Behind on this page.
