G3 geomagnetic storm watch due to CME passage

Earlier today we saw the arrival of one but perhaps even multiple coronal mass ejections at our planet. Geomagnetic storm conditions up the G3 (Kp7) level have already been observed but we are still very much under the influence of these coronal mass ejections as they pass Earth.

The north-south direction of the IMF (Bz) turned southward again to a steady -20nT with a solar wind speed near 600km/s. This means we could again see strong storm conditions so yet another G3 geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for the remainder of this day. Sky watchers in the locations like Scandinavia, the UK, northern Germany and the Baltic states should be alert for possible aurora displays after sunset.
