Story

The weather couldn't be better with all clear skies, all we needed was some good data for a successful night of aurorae. Another night in the freezing cold around -20°C, warmed up a bit in the car during the night as it would become a very special night. Our dinner wasn't yet completed when we already could see it from our hotel window, so quickly got ready and drove a bit more northward for a darker spot outside the town and found a pretty nice spot at a parking lot along the highway. A few big bands of aurora were already visible at the start but it was pretty static at first, but as the night evolved we got treated with two very sweet substorms which made the aurora dance in the sky and became so bright that I could even video it with my phone. In this amazing setting at the fjords, it was really breathtaking and one of my best northern lights displays ever!
